eXTReMe Tracker

The band

In July 2006 Chris Daughtry signed with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records, and began working on an album. He wanted to have his own band, and later Daughtry was formed after auditions conducted by the record label.

Here you can read brief introductions of Chris' fellow band members.

Joey Barnes

Drums and Vocals - his MySpace

The 30-year-old Joey is from Greensboro, North Carolina. He has been in the following bands: Stuck Without a Voice, The Patrick Rock Band, Suicide Darlings (aka Seven and the Deadlys) and Dorian Gray. Chris has known him for about four or five years.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find that much info about Joey, so if you know something, please, drop me a line! :)

Josh Paul

Bass - his MySpace, his website

The 30-year-old Californian rocker started off playing drums when he was just a toddler. When he was seven, he played the drums in the Don Henley video "Boys of Summer", which won the MTV "Video of the Year" award.

Henley liked Josh so much that he wanted him to star in another video "Not enough Love in the world". Henely became a big brother type of friend to Josh and advised him to take up another instrument so he could write songs (he was maybe eight years old at the time). Josh started off playing drums, then pretty much taught himself to play guitar, then bass. According to his sister, once Josh picked up a bass, she doesn't ever remember seeing him without it.

Josh has fun no matter where he is or what he's doing, but he has the most fun onstage. "There is nothing more exciting than playing in front of fans that are passionate about the music, and just plain havin' FUN!" says Josh in the Daughtry blog.

Josh Steely

Lead Guitar - his MySpace

He's a 36-year-old musician from Carlsbad, California. He's married and has two sons with another on the way. Josh and his wife have a boutique in Carlsbad called The Den.

Josh's passion has always been and will be music; he lives and breathes it. His family has a rich history of being in the music scene throughout his childhood all along the west coast and he hopes to continue the legacy. Josh was the guitarist, singer and writer for the band Sandjacket the last 10 years. According to him those years were amazing, but he decided to make a move and sign on as the lead guitarist for Daughtry. "These guys are like my brothers," says Josh on his MySpace page.

Brian Craddock

Guitar - his MySpace

Brian is the newest member of Daughtry. He's a 30-year-old musician / producer and a long-time friend of Chris from Charlottesville, North Carolina. Watch a short clip where Chris introduces Brian for the first time.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find that much info about Brian yet, so if you know something, please, drop me a line! :)

On his video blog (January 26th, 2007) Chris announced that the guitarist Jeremy Brady would leave the band. Brian Craddock has since taken his place. There are "no hard feelings" and Jeremy just felt the band wasn't the best thing for him at this point of his life. All the best to Jeremy!
